Slowly growing number of users who are looking for mid-range phone pricing model at the same time being somewhat distinctive from the competition. In terms of design, the overwhelming part of the Android devices gives us almost the same. Overlay operating system that's a bit too little to our phone stand out from the crowd. So maybe increased resistance? If so, you might want to consider the Sony Xperia GO and see what is a device that passed unnoticed, has to offer.

Construction

Sleek, compact and rugged – this is the Xperia GO.

Sony Xperia GO closes the compact dimensions 111.00 x 60.30 x 9.80 mm while weighing 110 grams, which is classified as almost perfect device, both for wearing in the inner pocket of his jacket, as well as your pocket. Phone is in your hands quite probably, despite the fact that the rear wall of the housing tends to slip in your hand. Same design like the device is not innovative but also – the competition – does not stick out. Note the presence of three color versions: black, white i .. gold.

  • View the full specifications of the Sony Xperia GO

On the left side of the unit we find Minijack headphone, the right wall Xperia GO hidden metal volume button, enter the microUSB port and the tag on the key ring. Lower the bar remained undeveloped at the top – in a very impractical (nieergonomicznym) place – is the Power button. [Nggallery id = 320 template = techmaniak] All caps are correctly described by the manufacturer, and as we have to deal with the device resistant to moisture and dust, the quality of their performance, as well as cover the whole body look good. Note the special protective layer ski hire "inside" the phone. The metal tray cover, gaskets, everything speaks in favor of the new Xperia, and lets hope for a relatively long life of your phone.

Screen

GO has a small screen, covered with a protective layer.

Sony Xperia GO is relatively small as the current standards, a screen size of 3.5 inches, running at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. An additional advantage of the screen will be a special protective layer, which protects the device against scratches and presence technology Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a charmer of a little image quality. In my view, the recent review Xperia Z Reality Display technology is doing here at best average. There is a lack of fireworks and modern technology of the screen. TN matrix is not enough to make the image managed to please the eye. [Nggallery id = 322 template = techmaniak] quality safety glass, the response to touch and visibility under the sun, in the present GO Xperia quite well. In these respects, the device can not be too much of Sony's fault.

Battery

The battery has a small capacity, but provides a reasonable time.

Sony Xperia GO has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1350 mAh. Due to the increased resistance of the device, the battery is permanently sealed in a device. Test Battery (brightness set to 50%):
  • conversation: loss of 10% per hour
  • work in the browser mode (Wi-Fi): loss of 26% per hour
  • work in the browser mode (3G): loss of 32% per hour
  • work in playback mode, WiFi enabled, playing video in full screen mode – loss of 17% per hour
  • work in playback mode, WiFi is not active, playing a movie in full screen mode – loss of 16% per hour
  • work in console mode – loss of 21% per hour

Charge time from 15% ~ 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Equipment

GO is solidly armed warrior.

The new Xperia GO positive surprises when it comes to the amount of supported standards. On board the device even find support for HSDPA (14.40 Mbit / s), Bluetooth v3.0, WiFi v802.11b/g/n standard, USB 2.0, Geotags, 3D surround sound, Clear Bass, Clear Stereo, xLoud Experience. Sony Xperia GO easily supports all major GSM bands.

Operating System

Nice processor, a small amount of RAM and Android 4.0.

GO Xperia runs on Android 4.0 ICS, further supported by an original cap system from Sony. On the quality of the work ensures proper dual-core ST-Ericsson U8500 NovaThor clocked at 1.00 GHz, and (only) 512 MB of RAM. It seems that with this duo, it is saved smooth dual-core processor, performance Xperia GO, because the amount of RAM as the current standards, it is just small. [Nggallery id = 324 template = techmaniak] Since we are dealing with a phone with enhanced immunity, presumably dedicated for active people on board were several applications that are hard to find on other phones that manufacturer. So find a compass app, flashlight with SOS function, or extended counter measures. There were, however, room for office applications, Facebook is "mazajów", which are simply the ability to create quick handwritten notes referring to a flashcard style. The total assessment, the operating system performs well, occupancy applications from Sony does not affect the comfort of the device, however, is likely to poskąpienie RAM GO Xperia plots from the list of phones that will see a new version of Android.

Internet

Small screen and do not help the average resolution in a convenient serfowaniu the web.

Default Android stock browser is doing well. Phone page loads quickly, correctly coping well with many elements flashowymi, but even trying to quickly close a pop-up advertising, cries out to heaven for vengeance. This is a result of the application of a relatively low resolution of only 320×480 pixels.

comfortable reading popular portals is of course possible, but rather in a horizontal orientation. In any other case, you might rely on the mobile versions of sites rather than wasting time in a normal web site. On the plus side speaks good optimization of Facebook, Twitter, and sports applications, like Endomondo.

Multimedia

IT IS good at playing music.

The main speaker on the rear of the unit, playing loud and clear. There is no way to attach the sound quality on the default headphones. Music player mode works well and the phone does not need too much time to add to the playlist tracks from an external memory card. This is without a doubt the benefits. [Nggallery id = 328 template = techmaniak] Video mode? If there is no prospect of a bigger screen, running at a higher resolution video can be seen, however, before the session, go for a little shopping to Google Play and obtain the player MX Player and codecs, as enjoying the increasingly popular format. rmvb is not always properly supported by a system player. Tested Media:

  • mkv, 1080p, h264, 40Mbps: does not play / MX Player plays: lack of liquidity
  • mkv, 1080p, h264, 10Mbps, dts: play with przycięciami, no sound
  • mkv, 720p, h264, 3Mbps, vorbis, subtitles: play correctly
  • mkv, 720p, h264, 600kbps, aac / mp3 dual audio play correctly
  • mp4, 720p, h264, 3Mbps, aac: play correctly
  • mp4, 720p, h264, 6Mbps, ac3: play correctly
  • mkv, 480p, xvid, 1mbps, he aac, subtitles: the sound, no image

Phone and keyboard

As from heaven to hell.

Sony Xperia GO; Photo: gsmManiaK.pl

The mode GO Xperia phone can not have the slightest reservation. Phone probably keep the range and the default dialer allow for quick and easy connections from both the phone and the keyboard mode and speed dial contacts.

Keyboard – unfortunately – is the Achilles heel of the device. Low resolution and lack of default, drawn from the main screen function keys, such as the monkey, or dots, that for many annoying impediment and the need for unnecessary tinkering in the settings. In landscape mode the keyboard preinstalled still able to defend, but the small screen in conjunction with a low resolution device and unergonomic the keyboard in portrait orientation is a nightmare.

Camera and Video

Pretty good for its class.

Camera with 5 megapixel sensor lights illuminate in the company can take pictures at a resolution of 2592×1944 pixels. The quality of photos taken outdoors in a good light falls well what it is worth noting as an advantage Xperia GO. In confined spaces the camera was able to defend himself, as befits a product from Sony.

Video is recorded in HD (1280×720 pixels). Note the solid image stabilization function is running, and good voice pickup. After the transfer of recorded material on a computer or television, with no major problems (and visible pixels) for to watch movies. In its shelf price and quality, Xperia GO performs well, although of course it is far from the level of T and Xperia Xperia Z.

Summary, evaluation and review

It is difficult to classify Xperia GO. Is this a normal phone with remarkable resilience, and perhaps equipment for active people and travelers who love to explore the world far and wide? I do not know. After all, if your looking for durable, quiet operation radzącego deal with a simple game Angry Birds, and knows how to blink every now and well done to enable photo and watch a movie or listen to music, GO you'll like. Alternative proposals

Sony Xperia GO is a mobile with increased resistance. If you are looking for interesting alternatives worth looking friendly glance at Motorola Defy and Defy + and the Samsung Galaxy XCover and Xperia Active. However, it is important to realize that the increased threshold of resistance in devices that range quite often means many compromises in terms of multimedialności these devices.
