Huawei Mate 20 Pro has just received the latest update containing security patches. Everything would be perfect, if not for the fact that the date on them is February, and some competitors have already managed to improve their models with improvements from the current month.
Huawei manages to create good smartphones with good cameras, but the strengths of this manufacturer certainly can not include regular updates – this applies even to the most expensive models from the palette.
Huawei loses a month to Samsung
The flagship Huawei Mate 20 Pro has just received an update distributed by an official channel, containing "the latest" security patches. Unfortunately, this is not about the March amendments, but overdue improvements from February. A several-day delay would not be surprising if it was not for the efficiency of competition, including the biggest rival of Huawei – Samsung. The Korean manufacturer yesterday released the March security rules and upgraded even Galaxy Note 8, the flagship from almost two years ago. Huawei can not deal with this in the fastest way, even when it comes to Polish copies of its last flagship. Today's update contains nothing more than security patches, which has a 339 MB weight. The package has been marked with the number 188.8.131.52 (C432E10R1P16).
What causes delays?
The Chinese producer is certainly busy with the upcoming launch of the Huawei P30 smartphones, but I hope that after their arrival, it will take care not only of new but also older devices. Huawei has got used to waiting for the stable version of Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 overlay, which Mate 10 Pro, P20 and P20 Pro users had to wait until December 2018. I am afraid that in this situation, future support in the form of new versions of Android for old devices may look haggard. At the very end, I am addressing my question to Mate 20 Pro users – is there an update notification on your smartphone? Write about it in the comments.
