In the previous year, Apple ranked first in the ranking of the most innovative companies in the world. There were 50 companies on the list, but the Cupertino group was the undisputed king. In recent years, innovation has become synonymous with Apple. A year ago, when the iPhone X appeared, the company still maintained the lead. However, it's time to give way. The latest Fast Company ranking showed that Apple fell from the first to the seventeenth place in terms of innovation . The winner turned out to be the Chinese Meituan Dianping service. It allows for a quick and easy way to order food, cinema tickets or rent hotel rooms. You can even rent a bicycle. Last year over 350 million people from 2800 cities benefited from the services of this company, exceeding the amount of 33 billion dollars. The second place went to Grab – also from Asia. It provides transport solutions for over 130 million people. The NBA ranked third. All because the basketball league managed to beat records in the audience, and streaming services have recorded as much as 63% increase in users.
Apple ends? Nothing could be more wrong
Apple has been gradually being innovative for several years. Suffice it to mention that the iPhone X, which gained an accelerated debut in 2017, was ultimately planned for 2018. If its premiere took place according to the first schedule, it would be vain to seek its success. At the end of last year, when the "ten" successors came out, we already knew that many different factors translated into worse sales. What is the most important is the fact that you can not be a non-stop innovative company. People change on board, and consequently – direction or plans. The clients' needs are also changing. We have a dynamic market situation and competition that is not asleep. Looking at new solutions, it is known that it is difficult to be as innovative in the world of smartphones or computers as it was a few years ago. It does not change the fact that Apple does not end. This is evidenced by the AirPods headset boom, which everyone initially laughed at. We have Apple Watch, which is becoming more and more popular each year. And as if not to look – still the iPhone.
Xiaomi again clones Apple's solution
Even if Apple has stopped being as innovative as it used to be, it does not mean that the Cupertino giant's solutions have ceased to be copied. Probably the most daring (in the negative sense) brand that allows deep inspiration (not to say mapping) Apple's solutions is Xiaomi. The Chinese have been able to positively surprise us and sometimes they will actually present something new. However, they mainly deal with cloning solutions of others at a lower price. Recently we have seen Xiaomi Dots – headphones that are reminiscent of Apple AirPods .
