Meizu Zero officially presented. This is the first smartphone in the world that has no buttons, speaker, SIM card slot, charging port or any other connector or any other openings. How does Meizu Zero work and is it the smartphone of the future?
What is your vision of the future smartphone? If your recommendation is equipment that has no hole in the housing, you will most likely like the premiere of the Meizu Zero model today. In fact, it was only announced and we only got to know the partial specification, and the smartphone will go on sale only later in 2019. Even so, it's worth taking a closer look at it today.
Meizu Zero – the first unmanned smartphone in the world
Meizu Zero is the first smartphone in the world that has no opening in the casing . To achieve this, the manufacturer had to make a lot of controversial decisions, apply breakthrough technologies and get rid of everything that was to be disposed of. Meizu Zero does not have a charging port , so the energy can be supplemented in the battery in a wireless way, thanks to the support for fast charging with 18W. We do not know what the capacity of the cell used in Meizu Zero is, but even at 3000 mAh it will be difficult to feed the smartphone at a reasonable pace. Meizu Zero does not have a SIM card slot, therefore the manufacturer only used e-SIM . There is no 3.5mm jack connector on board, so you can only listen to music wirelessly using Bluetooth 5.0 LE. It is this technology that is also used to transfer files, and Meizu ensures that it guarantees speed at the USB 3.0 level. Changing the volume is possible thanks to the touch panels on the frame. There is no standard speaker on the Meizu Zero. It has been built into the screen , which we already know, among others from the first Xiaomi Mi Mix. Meizu calls its mSound 2.0 technology. The Chinese did not forget about the great mEngine 2.0 vibrating motor. Lack of any holes in the housing allows for complete water tightness. It is true that Meizu Zero officially praises IP68 , but according to the company, he can withstand in the water up to 2.5 hours of continuous immersion, which is 5 times longer than it says IP68. As for the more mundane elements of the Meizu Zero equipment, the phone has been equipped with a 5.99-inch OLED screen , and the fingerprint reader has been integrated in it. Meanwhile, the heart of the equipment is Snapdragon 845 (interesting, why not newer Snapdragon 855?), Connected to LPDDR4X RAM memory of unknown capacity. Meanwhile, the photographic base is a 20 MP selfie camera that supports the face recognition system, as well as a dual main camera , in 12 MP (Sony IMX380) + 20 MP (Sony IMX350) configuration. All listed components are enclosed in a glass housing with a metal frame.
Meizu Zero prices are a mystery, as are the availability
Meizu Zero, which is equipped in this way, is to be launched in China later this year, but no details have been disclosed. In fact, we do not even know its full specification that I will not mention prices.
