Xiaomi enters into the new year with a boost, presenting a medium-sized Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 equipped with a great technical specification and an ideal price quote. However, this is not the end because there is a more powerful Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro on the horizon.
Chinese Xiaomi is a brand that can surprise not only with great smartphones and their low prices, but also with decisions that may affect changes in the mobile industry. Recently, we have learned about the plan to isolate the Redmi sub-brand from the mother company as a separate line for the future medium- shelf manufacturer's phones. Today this decision came into force, and we welcomed the independent series Redmi and its first representative – Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.
Better Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is coming
The smartphone debuted with an iron specification and a good camera , but above all it has an argument in the form of a price. The cheapest model variant will cost in China just 550 zlotys and thus throws a large stone into the competition's garden. The situation may also be exacerbated by the next Redmi premiere, in which we will see the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro – a smartphone with a somewhat lengthy name, but promising to hit a similar format. The Pro variant will be the visual twin of the "standard" Redmi Note 7, so once again we can expect a 6.3-inch IPS screen equipped with a resolution at Full HD + level and a teardrop-shaped cut. We will only come across changes in the device's specification.
An even more powerful processor
First, the Xiaomi will replace the engine of the model, replacing the great but worn Snapdragon 660 with a newer unit with more power. So in Redmi Note 7 Pro we will meet the Snapdragon 675 processor – a system built of eight Kryo 460 cores: two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55.It is worth noting that the new chipset was manufactured in the 11 nm lithographic process , which brings with it much higher energy efficiency. For comparison, Snapdragon 660 has a 14 nm performance.
A great camera on paper
The manufacturer will also replace the main lens optics, getting rid of the Samsung GM1 unit and mounting a more advanced Sony IMX586 sensor. This is a 48 MP eyelet that, thanks to the reduced size of a single pixel, allows you to record a sharper image that is finally closed at 12 MP.The sensor also uses the new pixel placement technology that you can read about in Damian's premiere lyrics about the unit. Let me quote the relevant passage:
Thanks to the Quad Bayer technology, four adjacent pixels (in the 2 × 2 system) have the same color, so they can collect information about the image together, so in a sense the pixel will grow to 1.6 μm. This makes the phone able to register a 12 MP photo with low noise and high brightness.
To help the main lens will start an additional camera , probably 5 MP with the option of detecting the depth of the background.
Official presentation in February
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is expected to debut in February, when we will get to know its official prices. Values should not increase drastically, while PLN 200-300 increases seem a real prospect. Of course, we are talking about Chinese prices, because we do not know yet how much we will have to pay for the Pro version in our country.
