TCL decided to take two low-budget Alcatel smartphones to Las Vegas. The first of them is Alcatel 1x (2019), and the second is the Alcatel 1c version of Go Edition, and therefore with a light Android system on board. In both cases, low-cost components were erected, which may appeal to undemanding consumers.
Alcatel 1x (2019) seems to be a slightly updated version of its predecessor. It has the same SoC, but a bigger screen and two cameras.
The MediaTek MT6739 is responsible for operation in Alcatel 1x (2019) , so the SoC is composed of a processor whose four cores are based on the ARM Cortex-A53 architecture and have an increased clock speed of up to 1.5GHz. The graphics are answered by PowerVR Rouge GE8100, working with 2GB of RAM. The same SoC chip, although with reduced clocking we can find in last year's model, as well as in the recently presented myPhone FUN 7 LTE. The good news is that the capacity of the battery in the latest Alcatel smartphone has been increased to 3,000 mAh to guarantee operation at a similar level with a larger screen. A 5.5-inch IPS display with 18: 9 aspect ratio was used, protected with Dragontrail 2,5D glass. The content is displayed in HD + resolution (1440 x 720 pixels). TCL claims that the ratio of the screen to the front panel is 83%. Another new item in this year's Alcatel is a dual camera – the main 13MP + an additional 2MP. An additional sensor allows taking photos with a bokeh effect (in real time). The main camera also allows you to record video in resolutions up to 1080p. A 5MP camera was dedicated to the selfie, with the use of which you can also unlock the smartphone. This function was missing in the original 1x. Two variants will appear on sale – one with a biometric sensor on the back wall and the other without. Alcatel 1x (2019) will be available this quarter for 120 dollars / 120 euros in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Alcatel 1c (Go edition) is a very, very basic smartphone. It will cost 70 euros.
The latest Alcatel 1c (Go edition) is a compact model – with a screen size of 5 "and an aspect ratio of 18: 9, on which content is displayed at a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels. Under the "mask" we find only 1GB of RAM, quad-core processor and 8GB of internal memory with the possibility of expansion (up to 32GB). Of course, the smartphone works under the control of the light Google system, Android Go. This software offers the most important Google applications, such as Gmail, YouTube, Maps and Assistant, specially written to operate on more cost-effective equipment. The specification also includes: a 5MP main camera (recording video in HD, at 30fps) a front camera with a resolution of 2 MP. 3.5 mm headphone jack, FM radio, and 3G modem. Alcatel 1c will be available this quarter for $ 70 / $ 70 in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. source
