Huawei Mate 20 Pro met with the first major glitch – some of its users noticed strange spots and distortions on the screen. Huawei decided to respond to the allegations.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro will soon be a month away from the London premiere, and the model has already been hailed as one of the best smartphones of the year. There is a lot of truth in this because it has an elegant design, top components and a triple camera that makes it a tempting piece of electronics.
A good deal is also being said about its 6.4 "OLED screen, which has been curved and equipped with an integrated fingerprint reader.
Problems with the Mate 20 Pro screen
Meanwhile, in addition to the razor-sharp image, some of its users have experienced unpleasant discolorations and screen spots.
From the similarity of stains to leaky glue the situation has been called #GlueGate, and you can read more about it in Damian's text.
The problem concerns panels made by LG, which is one of the two screen suppliers for Mate 20 Pro – in the case of the BOE brand, no problem was observed. The panel of this creator was used in the copy we tested, which is why we did not encounter problems on our own skin.
English Community Manager Huawei decided to answer the allegations:
Mate 20 Pro uses leading screen curving technology to provide a better visual experience and maintain comfort. This can lead to discoloration when we look at the display at an angle.
In very dark rooms, with a low level of brightness of the screen or in the case of dark wallpaper, the mendacity may be greater. If problems interfere with normal use, take the phone to an authorized service center.
It is difficult to believe in these translations, because the problem did not affect the panels provided by BOE and should not occur at all. Looking at the screen at an angle should also not cause discoloration . A much more likely scenario is the trouble at LG , which improperly secured the production process or gluing panels.
Huawei will replace the panels?
The good news is that probably all defective smartphones will be repaired, although in the history of the case of Samsung, which recognized the burning of the screen AMOLED as the fault of the user …
We will find out in the next few days about how the future development will unfold and how global this problem is.
