One of the branches of Huawei reported that the Huawei P9 will not receive an update to Android 8.0 Oreo. What caused that the producer decided to abandon the further development of the newest system for the popular flagship from 2016?
This is almost certain – Huawei P9 without Oreo
If you are a Huawei P9 user, I have sad news for you. The flagship model from 2016 will not get Android 8.0 Oreo . The manufacturer decided to abandon the development of the next version of the operating system for this model. Already last week, we could hear from the Polish branch that the smartphone will never see the latest system. What really happened? Apparently the phone does not meet Google's requirements for Android 8.0 Oreo . If I'm honest, I'm not buying that nonsense. There are many more weaker smartphones that can easily handle Oreo and somehow meet these requirements. As for my eye, the Chinese simply do not pay to spend such an update. According to the reminder, the protagonist of his life began with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. In January 2017, he received the first and the last large system updates. If I was a user of the mentioned model, I would feel very disappointed with the manufacturer's attitude.
Why will not P9 get Oreo?
This type of questions probably is not asked by one person. A P9 user personally decided to ask the manufacturer this question. The British support squad repeated what we already know, adding that the new system was abandoned due to the problems it caused. There were frequent hangs of the device and increased energy consumption. As you can see, these are quite serious problems, but has the producer not given up too easily? In my opinion, this is what happened. After all, it is normal that such things happen in the early stages of software development. I will not believe the words of representatives of Huawei that the hardware , which is located on the smartphone, was unable to carry the newest green robot. Anyway, the P9 model will rather stay on the Nougat forever. It's a pity because I still praised the producer for delivering more features to the P20 Pro, and here it is a setback. I would not be clinging to a medium or low shelf model, but a flagship? These types of things should never take place at all. We do not pay big money to stay on the ice. If Samsung was able to release Oreo on the Galaxy S7 then why can not Huawei do the same? This question will probably never be answered. It remains to be hoped that although monthly security patches will be on board the smartphone. By the way, another thing is puzzling me. Chinese Huawei P9 replicas work under the control of Oreo, while European branches of the company inform that the update will not be made available.
