Soon Motorola Moto G5S Plus will receive an update to the latest version of Android, or 8.1 Oreo.
This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting medium-sized smartphones that appeared at the end of last year – this is confirmed, among others, by our review Moto G5S Plus. The advantages of the phone are primarily a very high work culture based on the Snapdragon 625, but also above average – for this shelf, the camera and battery life, which is even 2.5 days. Today, the smartphone costs about 900 PLN and is still a really interesting choice for people looking for a decent Android phone.
Everyone is waiting for an update to Android 8.1 Oreo
One of the undoubted disadvantages of G5S Plus is the fact that it still has not been updated to the latest version, Android 8.1 Oreo. One thing is certain – this update is on the way. Already in February, it was released for all smartphone users staying in Australia and New Zealand, but it was finally stopped. Today, the XDA Developers forum mentions the release of the OTA update for everyone who is part of the Motorola Feedback Network or is also part of the internal tests currently being carried out in Brazil. The software version with the OPP28.60 designation weighs 1.18 GB, similar to the system update for other devices.
When does the update of Moto G5S Plus to Android 8.1 Oreo?
Can Motorola Moto G5S owners be ready for a quick update of the smartphone? It is rather doubtful – we are still dealing with a test version of the update. Although it has been made available to a much larger number of testers, it seems that Motorola wants to strongly apply to the fact that such a significant change was carried out without major problems – and such we had to deal even in the case of Samsung Galaxy S7. It seems that a reasonable period for the official release of the update will be a period of 1-2 months. And it is probably worth the wait for the fully-working Android 8.1 Oreo, rather than struggling with a hanging smartphone or OS errors. source: wccftech
