Google Pixel 3 XL poses on renderings. They confirm the frameless design combined with a note on the screen, but the lack of a double camera is quite a surprise. Will Google Pixel 3 XL still be one of the best smartphones for photos?
New renders presenting Google Pixel 3 XL hit the network. They partially confirm the look that we have seen before, but conceal an additional surprise. Does Google not see the sense in the additional lens ?
Google Pixel 3 XL with a single main camera
Huawei P20 Pro, which currently leads the rankings of the best smartphones for photos, is based on as many as three lenses. Almost all of this year's flagships (and most of the average) have at least two – as it was also in 2017. Against this background stood out Google Pixel 2 XL, which I had the pleasure to test. Despite only one lens, the quality of the pictures was falling off the legs. I have similar expectations for the successor, which we will see in October this year. Despite the fashion for decorating the rear panel of smartphones with more and more lenses, Google intends to equip its flagship with only one main camera . And I'm strangely calm, that their model will once again be at the forefront of the best photo phones. Yes, an additional lens can be useful – multiple optical zoom allows you to photograph objects that are difficult to approach – but you can live without it. The monochrome solution known from Huawei smartphones allows you to achieve artistic effects, but for me the only sensible application for the second matrix and lens remains a wide angle, which paradoxically enjoys the least interest from the producers. If you can live without them, then maybe Google is right?
What will Google Pixel 3 XL look like?
Well, we will not find many surprises here. Google plans to stick to the design path that the previous generation has marked out. On the back panel you will find a combination of glass and aluminum again. The glass panel looks quite good, and its surface gives hope that casual contact with the floor will not end with a visit to the site. The manufacturer has placed a fingerprint reader on the metal part. It also seems that the range of available color options will not change. Most of the front fills the screen, but the top could not be missing. Some may be dissatisfied that Google also puts on a notch – especially that the previous generation could have done without it, still presenting "frameless" design. The consolation is the fact that the smaller variant probably will be without indentation. At the bottom there is a large chin that could be better managed, but at least Google does not intend to give up on stereo speakers that face the user. A less positive aspect of the musical possibilities of this model is the lack of a headphone jack. What else do we know about the specification of the larger Google flagship? Previous reports point, of course, to the use of Snapdragon 845 and I do not see the possibility that Pixel 3 could be driven by any other system. The RAM RAM is still a bigger unknown, and rumors say about 4 GB – such amount at the end of 2018 can certainly be treated as a disappointment category. Disappointing will not be the system – clean and immaculate Android P and a guarantee of long-term update is for many a reason enough to opt for a device from Google. A nice addition would be wireless charging, which we have not seen so far in smartphones from this manufacturer. Everything will become clear in October. The likely release date is the 4th of the month – if you count on Google to be consistent. Source: gizmochin
