A photo showing the appearance of Nokia 5.1 Plus hit the network. This is a mid-range smartphone, which should be one of the cheapest models equipped with a frameless screen and notch. Is it worth buying it?
Nokia has so far impressed me with the excellent quality of its devices, quick updates and the transparency of the offer. When I look at new models, I am sure that two of these features will be preserved. The question is: is not it too much?
The look of Nokia 5.1 Plus
Nokia does not cease to present us with new devices. This approach has two sides. On the one hand – everyone should find something for themselves in the offer of a Finnish producer. On the other – the offer is definitely less transparent. The next model, which Nokia will fight for the customer in the segment up to PLN 1000, is 5.1 Plus. What do we know about him? Nokia 5.1 Plus will be a frameless smartphone with notch . And chin. And the protruding camera lens, though not located at the left edge. If such devices are very popular, why not put one into your sales offer ? This model will have a large 5.7-inch screen (I remind you that the Nokia 5.1 has a 5.5-inch display, but with 18: 9 aspect ratio and much thinner frames the Plus model will be paradoxically more compact – that's what I mean, writing about the mess in naming). Once I happened to write that Nokia 5 is one of the best smartphones I've ever seen in my hand . As another example, I gave the iPhone 6, from which the Finns model was significantly cheaper. And you know what? Nokia 5.1 Plus will look like a fusion of both devices. Of course, this is not a general project, but I will explain what I mean. For details. Look only at the smooth transitions of the side edges into the front and back panels (unfortunately made of glass). So far, I've only seen it a few times – in Huawei P10, in iPhones and in Nokia 5. It's just a detail, but I really like it. At the bottom you will also find a USB-C charging connector. A headphone jack will appear on the top edge, which will be pleasing to many users.
How much will Nokia 5.1 Plus cost?
Wait a minute, where is the specification? In this matter, we now know so little that everything would have to be based on guesses and forecasts. Nokia 5.1 works on the MediaTek Helio P18 processor, which is supported by 2 or 3 GB of RAM. The battery has 2970 mAh, which does not look very good on the 5.5-inch screen. I hope that all these values will go up – Snapdragon 450/625 would be perfect, 3 or 4 GB of operating memory would also be desirable. The most expected is to increase the capacity of the battery – Nokia has recently shown a lot of sense in this matter and I believe that there will also be a larger link – at least 3500 mAh. What do you think about such Nokia 5.1 Plus? Is Nokia once again making a mistake , giving up its design for a fashionable notch in the screen, or is there a method in this madness?
