AnTuTu has released the latest Android phone performance ranking for May 2018. The list includes the top 10 smartphones on the market. The ranking was dominated by this year's models, mainly from the Middle Kingdom. Will you guess which smartphone is the most efficient?
If you are already reading the Top 10 tutorial on the best smartphones and you are still not reading about top and strong devices, then I invite you to read the AnTuTu performance ranking for May this year . Only those Android models on board were taken into account, which were tested by various users from May 1 to May 31, more than 1000 times, and the results achieved were averaged. The tests were performed using the AnTuTu Benchmark V7 application. Which smartphone proved to be the most efficient in May 2018?

OnePlus 6 leader in the AnTuTu ranking
It is not a surprise for me that the first place in the May ranking of AnTuTu was taken by the debuting OnePlus 6. The main motive for the official presentation of this model was speed and efficiency. As you can see, OnePlus is a hell of a fast smartphone and an average of 274910 points in AnTuTu. I will not be surprised if the lead in the ranking gave me some small program tricks, but it does not matter much. The OnePlus 6 is extremely powerful because it is driven by the top Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 graphics. It is one of the most efficient and successful systems on the market. OnePlus 6 is not the only smartphone in the list that is equipped with this unit.
Snapdragon 845 dominates in AnTuTu
On the list of the strongest smartphones according to AnTuTu, we find a total of 10 phones, of which up to six of them are powered by Snapdragon 845 . To be precise, I will add that it is the first six. We are talking about the following models (except for the above-mentioned OnePlus 6):
- Smartisan R1,
- Xiaomi Black Shark,
- Samsung Galaxy S9 +,
- Samsung Galaxy S9,
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.
The difference between OnePlus 6 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is just over 13,000. points, i.e. quite a lot, but in reality it means nothing. If I had to choose between these phones, their results in AnTuTu would not matter to me.
Other smartphones in the ranking
Further places in this AnTuTu report are dealt with by the following phones:
- Nubia Red Magic (Snapdragon 835),
- Huawei Mate 10 Pro (Kirin 970),
- Huawei Mate 10 (Kirin 970),
- Honor V10 (Kirin 970).
Nubia Red Magic with Snapdragon 835 was able to overtake three Huawei smartphones with the Kirin 970 chip. I remind you that this second unit drives Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro, or current Huawei flagship, which for reasons not known to me are not included here. Perhaps they are not as popular in China as the Mate series appliances, or just average worse results.
Do benchmarks matter?
This entry should end with thoughts on the importance of benchmarks in everyday use. Generally, I agree with what my former colleague Paweł once wrote, so let me attach a link to his entry: https://www.gsmmaniak.pl/825712/smartfon-benchmark/ Source: AnTuTu
