Huawei MediaPad M5 LTE is not a cheap tablet, it costs PLN 1999. Its price, however, is justified, because it is a decent multimedia tablet that should serve for years.
Courtesy of the x-kom.pl store, I am trying to test the latest tablet from Huawei. MediaPad M5 made its debut at this year's fair in the capital of Catalonia. It's a piece of decent equipment that is definitely worth your interest. We would like to thank for the x-kom.pl store for the tablet rental for tests
Powerful components for years
Its cheese is enhanced by Hisilicon Kirin 960 , consisting of an octa -core processor (4x ARM Cortex-A73 @ 2.4 GHz + 4x ARM Cortex-A53@1.8GHz) and an ARM Mali-G71MP8 graphics chip with 850 MHz clock speed. Added to this is the support of 4 GB RAM type LPDDR4. The same set can be found, among others, in last year's flagship smartphones of the Chinese company, and thus Huawei P10, as well as the Huawei P10 Plus. The first moments spent with the Huawei MediaPad M5 show that the display resolution used – 2560 x 1600 pixels, does not affect performance, and the hardware does not slow down. A sufficient amount of memory has been reserved for the data, 64GB, which should certainly be enough for your favorite games, programs and multimedia materials.
Slim and elegant design
At first glance, we can see that Huawei offers us a premium product, which is why the placement of components on the casing, as well as the materials used for production, are as they should be. On the right side of the tablet (keeping it in the default position) the manufacturer placed a fingerprint reader that worked flawlessly and instantly. The biometric sensor also offers support for gestures, so you can use the tablet, bypassing the beam with screen buttons (you can turn it off).USB Type C port, sleds with microSD card and nanoSIM card slot, switch, and volume control bar are placed on the right side, on the ground back part, thanks to which they are gently hidden. It looks very nice. The rear panel is exclusively aluminum, which looks very good, and it is pleasant to the touch. Since we are already at "backs" it is worth mentioning the presence of a camera eye, which is surrounded by a silver ring – the latter protrudes beyond the face of the structure. I received a silver color version for testing, but the offer is also a black version of MediaPad M5.
Tablet for work and play at the same time
Huawei MediaPad M5 works under the control of Google Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 interface, which is also present in smartphones. Important new features resulting from the presence of Android 8.0 Oreo are: context menu of the application, which activates when you hold your finger longer on the icon; and a floating window with Google maps. This interface is ideal for normal, everyday use. An important novelty here is EMUI Desktop , therefore an interface strictly prepared for office work, where we use a mouse and a keyboard. Applications open in windows, and the application drawer is located in the lower-left corner of the system tray. This is a useful interface, although you must know that not every program will work in it.
I'm taking on testing
I have presented you with some key information about Huawei MediaPad M 5 LTE, so it's time to start testing. Of course, I encourage you to ask questions in the comments .
