Huawei P10 after six months. A smartphone worth buying in 2018?

After half a year with the Huawei P10, it's time to sum up my impressions. How does the Huawei P10 work every day and is it worth buying it in 2018?

Some of you certainly associate that in my entries I often refer to the Huawei P10. I do not do it to show off, but because it is a smartphone recognized in our country. Therefore, it also serves as a reference point. Today, however, I will focus on collecting the half year spent with the Huawei P10 . Are my impressions different from the first month?

Huawei P10 is a very efficient smartphone

In the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, I had the opportunity to use every flagship smartphone. I spent a shorter or longer time with him, but each time the application was the same: the performance increase in smartphones no longer makes any sense. I mean, there is not, until we replace them with computers (of course, that the producers are trying, but would you use it now?). I did not feel any difference in my daily work. That's why I think that the flagship from the beginning of 2017 will be enough , also as a portable gaming console.

Perhaps you think that during the P10 release, Huawei emphasized that dedicated algorithms have been harnessed to work, which will have a positive effect on the operation of the smartphone after a long period of use . Although it sounds haughty, I must admit that it works. Huawei P10 after six months works exactly the same as out of the box. So, as I would expect from every flagship. The ideal, however, is very far away. And all this by …

Huawei P10 Android Oreo

By the time you wait for Android Oreo. In principle, I do not even mind the lack of new solutions that the eighth generation of the system brings. I get regular security updates , so there is no tragedy. I am more annoyed with the fact that the flagship, which is without a doubt the Huawei P10, still has to wait for the new system, while the Huawei P20 Lite has been operating on Oreo since out of the box. It just does not happen. In everyday work, the system works very smoothly . There is no question of even the slightest trimming of the animation, and games left in memory are completely playable even two days later. There is almost never a situation in which an application would need to be overloaded. In this respect, I have nothing to reproach him for.

The thing I value most about the Huawei P10 is the fingerprint reader on the front. Not only does it work quickly, it also supports gestures . At the beginning I used them as part of the experiment, but now I can not imagine returning to the Android function buttons. Every smartphone should have one. I hope that they will also appear in the Huawei P20, which will premiere in a few days – March 27. So much text and not a word about these famous cameras? It's all because I'm a complete layman. I only know about photography as much as it is absolutely necessary that the photos in my reviews do not reject at first glance. In one sentence – the camera in the Huawei P10 makes great photos for me in the day and acceptable at night . This is definitely not the level of the Samsung Galaxy S8. And what does not I like about the Huawei P10?

Battery in the Huawei P10

Buying a flagship almost always has to take into account the fact that the battery will be bad. This is no different with the Huawei P10. I was aware of it on the day I bought it, I am now. With my use, there is no way that it survives from 6.30 to 23 . During the day, at least once I have to recharge it. At this point, I appreciate the fast charging, which I can not really fault. In tricky situations, it can provide energy for several hours (light) use in a few minutes. If you play a lot on your smartphone, then the Huawei P10 is probably not for you.

Is it worth buying a Huawei P10 in 2018?

Of course. Huawei P10 currently costs PLN 1700 . At this price, it has to compete not only with last year's rivals, but also with mediums like the Huawei P20 Lite. Which one is worth choosing is a topic for a separate entry. Would I buy LG G6 instead of P10? No. Would I buy Xiaomi Mi6 instead of P10? Nor. Both of these devices are great smartphones that are worth buying. But I do not like glass smartphones. That's why I would choose Huawei P10 again , which will stay with me at least until the premiere of P20. Although I do not exclude that we will say goodbye in the end due to lack of updates.
