Does the Samsung Galaxy S9 have a better camera than the Google Pixel 2 XL? From this text you will find out which smartphone currently has the best camera on the market.
Entering the ring illuminated by millions of lights, I see two giants. Samsung Galaxy S9 in one corner, Google Pixel 2 XL in the other. The best fotosmartfony in the world with the final duel. And I will comment on this duel. First round – start. Who will become the king and go to our TOP-10 smartphone for photos? For years Samsung has been dominating in the world of Android in terms of the quality of taken photos. Until Google began to pay more attention to the production of its smartphones. The effect is that Google Pixel 2 XL in 2017 did not have any rivals. Did anything change after the release of Galaxy S9?
Samsung Galaxy S9 + and Google Pixel 2 XL: specification of cameras
Let's start with technical matters. Google Pixel 2 XL has a single lens with f / 1.8 light. The matrix has a resolution of 12 megapixels. Both smartphones shoot 4K video. Samsung has a second lens, which in theory should have greater photographic possibilities. For me, however, as long as it's just a telephoto lens, it might as well not be. The matrix has the same resolution, but the lens is much brighter. The variable aperture offers the values f / 1.5 or f / 2.4. Comparing with the shots taken during the day using these smartphones does not make any sense. Both of them will do them perfectly, which in principle could also be written about most phones for more than PLN 1,000. The field to show off when the light is less, which smoothly takes us to the next point.
What photos does the Galaxy S9 + do at night?
Great. Samsung Galaxy S9 is currently the best fotosmartphone on the market . With regard to the fact that it overtook iPhone X, LG V30 or Huawei Mate 10 Pro, no one had any doubts. The only rival was Pixel, with whom S9 wins after all. Very slightly, but still. Both phones are impressive in color rendering, but the Galaxy, in my opinion, is able to register natural looking colors. The brighter lens does its job and the photos taken inside and after dark are … well, brighter.
Which smartphone has the best camera?
According to the author of the test, the choice was very difficult. I spent many minutes comparing the details of the photos and I have to admit that not all Galaxy S9 proved to be the undisputed winner. It should be noted, however, that the Korean smartphone takes sharper pictures and with more natural colors. At this point, I would usually write that, yes, it takes better pictures, but last year's model is cheaper and it is also worth buying. But it's not like that. Samsung Galaxy S9, which has exactly the same camera as S9 + (I intentionally omit the telephoto lens, which does not affect the quality of photos in the dark) now costs PLN 3599 . Google Pixel 2 XL costs currently PLN 3,599 . If you consider both these models only through the prism of cameras, the choice is simple – choose S9 . Considering the whole, because the phone is not just a camera, I have no doubt that Google Pixel 2 XL remains the number one in the world of Android. For now, at least. Source: TheVerge
