Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro officially presented in India. We know their specifications, prices and variants. Xiaomi has once again created cheap and good smartphones. Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro have a good chance of selling success. Do the new Xiaomi meet your expectations?
Xiaomi has expanded the portfolio of Redmi smartphones by two new models. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro are well-equipped and cheap telephones, in response to current trends related to narrow-section design and 18: 9 screens. We especially waited for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, but let's take a closer look at both phones.
Screens and narrow frames
Narrow-screen screens with a large diagonal are now standard even in low-cost devices. Xiaomi does not want to fight it, that's why it has equipped Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro with 5.99 " screens , Full HD + resolutions (2160×1080) and 18: 9 aspect ratios . The screens have been surrounded by relatively narrow side frames, making the so-called. screen-to-body ratio is approximately 77.5% .What is the difference between the two panels? Xiaomi declares a higher contrast in Redmi Note 5 Pro (1500: 1 vs 1000: 1) and the differences basically end because in terms of brightness (450 cd / m2) and color reproduction (83% NTSC) both screens are identical.
Snapdragon 625 and Snapdragon 636
The driving force of Redmi Note 5 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 , which is a well-known SoC with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 2 GHz, connected to the Adreno 506 graphics chip. It is supported by 3 or 4 GB of RAM. A breath of freshness is the Redmi Note 5 Pro, whose heart is Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 . Thanks to 8 kryo 260 cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz, it is up to 40% faster than Snapdragon 630. The graphics are Adreno 509, stronger than Adreno 508 by about 10%. In addition, you can also count on 4 or 6 GB RAM and this LPDDR4X, so Redmi Note 5 Pro is really efficient (110 thousand points in AnTuTu), especially in its price class.
Redmi Note 5 Pro has a dual camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is supposed to stand out above all with a double camera . Xiaomi decided to configure 12 MP (f / 2.2, 1.25μm) + 5 MP (f / 2.0, 1.12μm). Their cooperation is to provide great portraits . I do not doubt this, because the algorithms developed by Xiaomi work great and almost perfectly separate the photographed person from the background. However, the real challenge will be photos in more difficult lighting conditions. We have to wait for tests. It's worth adding that the selfie camera in Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has as much as 20 MP . It's true that it's not megapixels that take pictures, but in my opinion it mainly concerns the main cameras. If the manufacturer did not spoil something, then the self-shakesmen should be satisfied, especially that the front also has room for the LED illuminating the LED. What is missing?
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro are good smartphones, but not perfect. Their equipment is traditionally lacking NFC , USB type C and fast battery charging. Presented variants today do not offer support for LTE B20 (800 MHz band), but this should not be surprising.
