Information about the Snapdragon 670 has been added to the network. It will be a processor designed for Super Mids with dual cameras and 2K screens. What is worth knowing about the new Snapdragon 670?
On the market, it is hard to find smartphones equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, and the network has already been reported about its successor. The Snapdragon 670 will be a system designed for models from the highest part of the middle shelf, which will be priced similar to the Chinese flagships . In such a case, is it worth to be interested in it at all, if we can find a similar price as the Xiaomi Mi7? After the first tests, the full specification of Snapdragon 670 hit the network. At first glance, we can see what the average shelf will look like in 2018 – will the purchase of last year's flagship make any sense? Let's start with discussing architecture. https://twitter.com/rquandt/status/961663580088258562 Flagship smartphones in 2017 usually had 4 GB RAM – especially if we are talking about those from its beginning. In the first months of 2018, it became clear that 6 GB RAM on a mid-range smartphone would be new. This is not a special surprise, because, for example, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 equipped with Snapdragon 660 is also sold in this variant. The new Qualcomm unit will cope with 2K screens , which will certainly please all fans of a perfectly sharp image on your smartphone. https://twitter.com/rquandt/status/943459451100651520?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gsmmaniak.pl%2F789882%2Fsnapdragon-670-specyfikacja%2F Compared to previous information, we learned a bit more about the specification itself. Snapdragon 670 will be composed of two high-performance Kryo cores from the 300 series, i.e. modified Cortex-A75 clocked at 2.6 GHz. The image will be complemented by six energy-efficient cortex A55 cores with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz. It can be clearly seen that this is no longer the "classic" big.LITTLE layout. Double cameras will also be good for this market segment, as the test platform is equipped with two matrices with a resolution of 22 and 13 megapixels. Does this mean that in 2018 it will be more profitable to buy a smartphone from the middle shelf than last year's flagship? At this moment, it is difficult to answer this question. Flagmen usually have the advantage of longer support updates and still have better matrices. However, it can be safely assumed that the boundary between the most expensive mid-range models, which will cost about 2000 zlotys and top phones from China, will begin to blur. Which will be better? Only the first tests will answer this question. Source: Roland Quandt
