Smartphones with Windows on board are actually the past. Some developers, however, try to breathe "second life" into devices abandoned by Microsoft. This is how projects are created, which prove that even old smartphones still "can do a lot".
For a long time we know that smartphones with Windows Phone system are actually outdated. Microsoft decided to stop developing this project. Some, however, take matters into their own hands and create their own modifications. Gustave M. installed Windows RT and Windows 10 (ARM) on the Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone, which was once called the flagship giant from Redmond. Installing a desktop system on a smartphone with such a small display does not give much. It is impossible to make good use of the possibility of a smartphone or an installed system. The touch screen does not work, and even if it was efficient, it would not be possible to navigate freely without the mouse and keyboard. It is rather a test project that shows the still dormant possibilities in the equipment , which is Lumia 1520.It is worth noting that in a similar project, Windows RT was also launched on Lumia 950. In the future, it may be possible to install Android on smartphones, for whom Windows Phone was dedicated. Thanks to this, at least some of the smartphones could get a "second life". It would also allow users to better use the capabilities of smartphones due to access to a much larger application base. Works on such projects are also ongoing, although it is not known when they will be finalized … and whether they will be successful at all. Source: Windows Lastest
