After many months in the red, LG came to the conclusion that the time was right for changing the publishing strategy. Koreans will extend the life of current flagships and change their publishing strategy.
Despite many different attempts to improve the situation, the mobile department of LG has been down for just 11 quarters . This means that for almost three years the company has to pay extra for this business and quite a bit. Koreans do not want to give up this branch of their activity and are constantly looking for a new way. Vice President of LG revealed the latest idea to solve this problem. LG wants to present new models only when it's needed . This means moving away from the annual publishing cycle and limiting the portfolio. Cho Sung-jin stressed that his company has no intention of introducing new smartphones to the offer just because the biggest competitors have done it at the moment. This is not all. Koreans want to extend the life of currently sold top-shelf phones, once in a while introducing new variants. We saw the example last year, when LG G6 + appeared a few months after the premiere of LG G6. When it comes to LG V30, at CES the producer showed a new color version of this multimedia beast. Will the new publishing strategy improve the situation of LG? Hard to say. It seems to me that so far LG wants to simply go straight , and if it can be achieved, then it will be time for ambitious plans. In any case, I keep my fingers crossed because LG has enormous potential. Source: The Korea Herald
