Xiaomi Mi 6 has been my private smartphone for half a year. Do I still think that it was a good choice after these few months?
I tested Xiaomi Mi 6 in the first half of last year and soon afterwards it became my private smartphone. The flagship model Xiaomi has been with me for half a year now, so it's time for a re-evaluation. Am I happy with Xiaomi Mi 6? Definitely yes , although it was not without small glitches.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is fast as lightning
One of the biggest advantages of the Xiaomi Mi 6 was, is and will probably be the speed of action . This should not be a surprise, because a smartphone with a Snapdragon 835, 6 GB RAM and UFS 2.1 memory must indeed guarantee a great work culture. This does not mean that all smartphones with similar equipment work just as well. As a tester I had the opportunity to check many other flagships and I know that Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of the fastest smartphones on the market .The slowdowns are practically non-existent, and I can count the observed trimming of the animation on the fingers of one hand. If you are looking for a smartphone that is supposed to work like lightning, Xiaomi Mi 6 is a great choice .
The battery is great
Xiaomi Mi 6 is able to work on a single charge from morning to evening and always keeps up with me . I got what I wanted and we can close the topic on it, because I will not say anything revealing.
MIUI can be loved or hated
MIUI is one of the most extensive overlays on Android. The biggest fans of the Xiaomi interface consider it even a separate system. Sometime it may have been, but MIUI 9 showed that the base in the form of Android Nougat is equally important. I like overlays that give me a lot of control over the work and appearance of my smartphone, so I became a moderate MIUI fan . I appreciate additional, often unique features, as well as a multitude of themes and wallpapers (especially those on the lock screen that change automatically). But there are things that do not suit me. First of all, shortages in the translation, which came after updating to MIUI 9. I counted on the fact that the first small update will do the trick, but unfortunately it did not happen. Maybe it does not bother me very much, but it does irritate me a bit. The second problem is the occasional shutdown of applications that work in the background . I remember all the necessary settings and a padlock in the multitasking manager, so every day everything works the way I want. However, once in a while the system turns off most programs and they have to be re-loaded. This happens every few days when I do not turn the phone off. Maybe Xiaomi programmers think it's worth refreshing system resources sometimes?
The camera is only good but sufficient
Xiaomi can not create a smartphone with a great camera. That's what a large group of people say. In my opinion, this is a bit right, but if someone claims that Xiaomi can not create a smartphone with a good camera, it is obviously exaggerating . Xiaomi Mi 6 is a good photosmartphone. The pictures taken during the day are really fine, so I'm happy with them. The smartphone can replace my camera from time to time, and that was the most important thing for me. It's a bit worse in difficult lighting conditions. Xiaomi Mi 6 is doing well, but the top is missing a lot. I know, however, that in the evening, a really decent picture can be made with the help of the Xiaomi Mi 6. Much worse is the video, which is very average in every respect and in all conditions.
LTE B20 – needed or not?
Lack of LTE support in the 800 MHz band is a disadvantage of the Xiaomi Mi 6 . It is used in Poland and Xiaomi should adapt to it, since it officially sells its smartphones. This does not mean, however, that it is not worth buying a phone without B20 support. I have such a problem myself and have not noticed any problems with the LTE internet coverage , even in suburban towns. Sometimes I also travel on the Kutno-Warsaw route and I usually have better LTE coverage from a green or pink network on the Xiaomi Mi 6 than from a violet one on another phone that supports LTE 800 MHz. It turns out that it is not a problem for me. However, I will not tell anyone that the band is not needed at all. It's best to check it on your own, if possible.
What is missing in Xiaomi Mi 6?
The Xiaomi Mi 6 does not have a 3.5 mm jack connector. You can get used to it, and Xiaomi makes it easy by attaching a special adapter, but I'd still like the connector to be . I found out on one of the trips when I forgot the adapter, so I could not listen to the music or watch the movie, which I often do while traveling by train. I would also like a slot for a memory card. Although I still have around 20 GB of memory available, I treat the card as a reserve option in the event of a failure. I never damaged her and I lost my phone anymore;)There would be a little more frequent updates of the stable version of MIUI Global . Xiaomi attaches mainly to the Chinese version of its software, on which MIUIPolska is also based. I do not make weekly updates, but the October 2017 amendments in early January 2018 do not look the best.
Generally, I'm happy with Xiaomi Mi 6 …
… so I think I chose well . I knew the advantages and disadvantages of Xiaomi Mi 6 even before entering into his possession, and the subsequent months with Xiaomi Mi 6 confirmed my belief that it was a smartphone for me. It turns out that # Xiaomi Better.
