One of the Polish operators has introduced a new method of blocking the phones of those users who do not pay for the equipment. There are voices that this is just the beginning, because this kind of solution also want to introduce stores.
Have you ever bought a smartphone in your store or in an operator or on one of the auction sites from the person who sold the phone to renew your contract? In the dark I can say that most likely because so many Poles buy new equipment in this way. Recently, it became dangerous as Plus and T-Mobile started blocking unpaid telephones without allowing them to connect to the network. Now one of these operators went one step further. Until now, the locked smartphone was completely usable unless the user needed to connect to the mobile network. The new locking method does not allow you to use the phone in any way by displaying the following message on the screen:The picture shows a blocked Galaxy S8 with Plus . Restoring the factory settings or reloading the software helps, but only until the phone inserts a SIM card or connects to the network via Wi-Fi. Then the message will return and the device will not be used again. This is not the end of pessimistic information. There are voices that are just the beginning and similar solutions are planning to introduce some stores and T-Mobile , so in the future the redemption of any smartphone taken in installments can be extremely risky. If this happens, the aftermarket will soon experience an amazing earthquake. Source: Drow
