The BlackBerry, which for some time did not associate well with the good financial situation, posted earnings this quarter. Will the company finally come out straight and BlackBerry will show us a real flag?
Canadians, whose smartphone business is now in the hands of Chinese TCL, have begun to make money. After some lean years and painful restructuring, after which they had to get rid of the hardware part of the business came out straight? Such statements are probably too early, but it is much better than in the past.
BlackBerry for the first time has long been rising
If we look at the YoY (Year over Year) comparison, the progression is quite good. In the second quarter of 2016, the company posted a $ 372 million loss. In the second quarter of 2017 we are already talking about 19 million in profit. Why such a change? Part of the savings, in part from the licensing of Chinese appliances. Let's deal with the other issue.
TCL is the future of BlackBerry?
From the fantastic in my opinion, the Passport model, still based on the Canadians' own system, their smartphones were exceptionally bland. They resembled Alcatel's products, on which they were based, but there was nothing in them that would attract a mass customer. Only BlackBerry KEYone is the moment when both companies understand that it's time to return to what consumers love about smartphones with blackberry – a great physical keyboard, a battery that will not fail before the end of the day, and a secure system. The latter care in a special way, as security patches are only affected by Pixele and Nokia. For my part, I will say that he is very supportive of the returning BlackBerry. A little nostalgia speaks for me for the long-held BlackBerry 9320, in part also the fact that the BlackBerry KEYONE is a fantastic device that I had a long time to hold. I still want it, but somehow I can not justify its price in Polish stores. This is a great example of the fact that there is no bad hardware on the market, only a valuation problem is a problem. However, 3000 gold is a bit too much. That's a thousand too many.
Will we see another flag from BlackBerry?
Because we agree – KEYONE is not it. That is, but not the technical specifications. Not for everyone it is obvious that Snapdragon 625 is enough for everyday work, and yet you do not buy such equipment to play. BlackBerry needs a smartphone that can compete with the competition as well as the processor. And then the high price will be somehow justified. What do you think about the future of the BlackBerry on the mobile market? Will they come back with a hunch like Nokia, or will they just be a shadow of the old, business power?
