Motorola has revealed a list of smartphones that will receive Android Oreo. It would not be surprising if it was not for the fact that it lacked the Moto G4 model, and the manufacturer had made a mention of it on various materials. Now the company explained the situation.
The Motorola Moto G4 is not the latest smartphone yet, but it is also not outdated. Manufacturers some time ago promised that all owners of this model will be able to enjoy soon with the ability to upgrade to Android 8.0 system. But now Motorola seems to have changed its mind because it was in vain to look for the Moto G4 on the list of devices that will receive Oreo. In fact, the company has even removed references to its website and other materials. The changes and break of the promise show the various materials you can see below. Looking at the current subpage for the Moto G4 on the Indian Amazon, there is no mention of it. The situation is so interesting that on the official Twitter profile of the Indian Motorola division appeared status indicating that Moto G4 Plus will receive Android Oreo … and then was removed.

It is not known whether the Moto G4 and G4 Plus will receive Android Oreo. The producer claims that the whole affair is a misunderstanding, but he still tries to make updates available, though he warns that he will have to wait. May not be long enough to forget about it sooner or later. Update: The company took the floor to explain the whole situation and avoid an even greater crisis. Motorola has announced that Android Oreo will only go on board the G4 Plus . This means that the Moto G4 and G4 Play will stay forever with Android Nougat. The manufacturer explained that he never intended to update these versions, and that the information contained in the promotional material was the result of an error rather than an intentional action. Thus, Motorola is shunned by dissatisfied users who have started to complain about their broken promise. The company has not, however, given an exact date when Android O will be available to Moto G4 Plus owners. Source: Reddit , Motorola
