iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and jubilee iPhone X are three new smartphones that will join the company's portfolio. How are their specifications, functions and looks presented? Check it now.
At this moment we had to wait a long time. But finally, Tim Cook introduced three new smartphones with a biting apple logo to the world. Below you can see how each one is presented.
iPhone X, without any surprises
According to rumors that have surfaced over the past few months, the iPhone X has not surprised us with anything special. Appearance, specifications, and features we've known for a long time. The smartphone received a 5.8-inch rounded corners display, made in OLED technology with a resolution of 2436 × 1125 px. It will receive True Tone support. The Apple A11 Bionic is a six-core processor with 2 efficient and 4 energy-efficient cores. It was produced in TSMC's 10-lithographic process. The A11 is 25% faster than the A10 on two cores and 70% faster on four energy-efficient ones. The iPhone X also received 3 GB of RAM, a 7 megapixel front-facing video camera and selfie, and a 12.4 megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization and LED lighting. We have wireless charging, IP67 water resistance and a larger battery. As expected, a new biometric security feature has emerged that has displaced the Touch ID. At the top of the display there is a notch for the speaker, camera and sensors. On both sides, there are time, icons, or other elements that indicate current activities, such as the background. Side button is bigger than previous models. This will enable Siri to enable or disable or authorize an Apple Pay payment. On the left is a standard smartphone mute switch and two volume buttons. On the sides of smartphones we have narrow antenna strips. On the back cover, however, they will not be the same as the previous version of the iPhone. The back cover is made of glass. iPhone X is available in two colors : black and silver. The front panel will however be both black.
Camera in iPhone X
The iPhone X has a dual camera of 2 x 12 Mpix. The aperture is f / 1.8 / 2.4 on telephoto. The front camera still has 7 megapixels. The smartphone has been able to record video in 4K quality and 60 frames per second with both rear (dual) camera as well as front. For comparison, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus can record 4K and 30 FPS videos, with the front camera recording only Full HD (1080p). We have support for Quad-LED True Tone. There is also a new Portrait Lightning mode. It supports "Contour Light", "Natural Light", "Stage Light", "Stage Light Mono" and "Studio Light". Thanks to them, the objects in the photos will look better. Portrait mode also supports front camera, which will be useful to selfie. The camera is capable of autodetecting the scenery (eg sunset or sunrise), objects (eg dogs, children) or lighting quality when taking a photo.
AirPower – wireless charging
The iPhone X will be capable of charging 7.5 W (5 V / 1.5 A). Unfortunately, this is only half of what enables the extended Qi 1.2 standard, that is, to use 15 watts power. Still, it will be more than the standard 5-watt charger. There will be accessories from Apple, but only next year. Among them will be the mat, as in the picture below, which allows you to load all Apple hardware at the same time. Besides, other Qi-compatible accessories will be supported.
Face ID – 3D face scan
Face ID will be able to recognize several different faces. It works at microsecond speed even when the smartphone is lying on the table . For scanning at night will be responsible infrared sensor with a resolution of 1312 × 1104 px. On the face will be displayed over 30 thousand invisible tiny points – in this way will be checked will be our face. The system will not be wrong when we put on a hat, glasses or bandana. Apple has also secured a deal by working with human face-to-face professionals in Hollywood. Thanks to this concern the company boasts that there is a chance of 1 in a million that a stranger will take our smartphone and will be able to unlock it. At Touch ID it is supposed to be a 1 in 5,000 chance. Face scanning will authorize payments through Apple Pay, although the user will have to approve the payment itself by double-clicking on the side button. Face ID will also allow you to play with Animoji, that is animated emoji with our facial expressions. There will be several emoticons available.
Gestures instead of the Home button
In order to open the card access window, instead of double pressing the Home or Touch ID button, we will have a short swipe gesture from the bottom up. If you want to return to the icon screen, it will have to be longer. To wake up your smartphone just tap its screen. We will push the control center to the right – this time from the top.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus – even better "seven"
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are still "seven", which debuted last year. It would seem that the changes are a lot and they are so important that Apple ignored the addition of the letter "S" and immediately raised the number to the "eight". In the meantime, I dare say that it is more a marketing process to encourage potential buyers not to focus solely on the flag. Here we have the same powerful Apple A11 processor . The iPhone 8, however, only has 2 GB of RAM due to one eye of the camera. The iPhone 8 Plus boasts 3 GB of RAM due to its dual camera. But here we also have wireless charging, True Tone, Portrait Lightning, 240 frames per second Full HD or 4K recording at 60 frames per second, waterproof IP67 standard, and extended use of the expanded reality in iOS 11. Appears slightly thicker cabinet because the back panel was covered with glass. Slightly different camera finishes in the "eight" than in the "seven", but they are very cosmetic changes. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus weigh a bit more than the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus – probably through a glass case. The biggest difference seems to remain the displays. We still have a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch LCD panel with smaller resolutions than the iPhone X. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus also have better speakers than the seventh. Only three color variants are available: silver, gold, and stardust. You have to admit that they look great, and certainly better than some dumplings prepared during gossip presentation.
