Once again over the past few weeks I have heard about the tragic financial situation of HTC. It seems that this state of affairs is not going to end soon, and it will be even worse over time. The Taiwanese, however, could try to return to the game by placing new smartphones on their smartphones.
Saga or who like the telethon with HTC takes the best. This time it does not break the same quarterly results or losses throughout the year – leaks tell you that the brand may decide to sell the mobile department, which would in my opinion really a big loss. But I am curious whether the change of management and some good decisions would direct the Taiwanese on the right track. One of them could be the option to create new equipment in the "One" series.
HTC One M7, HTC One M8 …
These were really great smartphones – at least for the time they were on the market. I noticed that a very large number of people looking at the moves of the mentioned brand in the market like I yearn for these devices. In the year 2014, the HTC One M8 surprised with a very good screen, enough performance and above all the great unmatched BoomSound speakers on the front of the chassis – the multimedia harvester looks. The only weakness of this model was the poor camera , but this piece can always be improved with little effort. I remember how shocked I was when the SOT was able to squeeze One M8 on a single charge let's make a bad battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh. In terms of design, the Taiwanese have also done much better than now. The "One" series was the true mark of a premium that was well placed in the palm of your hand and cooled coolly from the aluminum used.
Improve and not clutter your portfolio
One line came time for the HTC 10 and Damian tested the U11 recently. In these devices, HTC has broken with some of the past (I'm sorry for BoomSound) and decided to try again. These devices are not bad, but something must be wrong that they are selling really badly. Customers have lost HTC trust. It seems to me to do this by doing a "dumpster" from his portfolio. In addition to the flagship, HTC in an incomprehensible way for me to launch a mass of phones that were just average of many. Versions with "s", "lifestyle" and more, are just some of the first, better examples. That was just too much.
Two series, two different smartphones
An interesting way out of the situation for HTC could be to build U11 flagships and experiment with new devices. I mean functions, specifications, camera – generally all elements. The resurrected "One" line could become a standard at the same time. Upon entering the store and watching every new model, we would immediately know what we get in our hands. The Taiwanese, focusing on developing their strengths in sound, design and minimalism, could really make a lot of money. I am sure that with time the confidence in this manufacturer would increase significantly. And of course more money and more opportunities. So far, however, I can only dream and dream – this situation will probably never happen again. It's just a pity that in the last few years HTC has ceased to be competitive. This company created really solid products.
