Juho Sarvikas of HMD Global says that Android smartphone users do not need more than 4GB of RAM. Do you agree with the manufacturer of Nokia 8? How much RAM do your smartphones have? We invite you to participate in the survey.
While I roughly agree with the statement that the core war does not make much sense, I am happy to see a trend towards increasing the amount of memory available on smartphones. As a tester I have to deal with smartphones with different amounts of RAM and thanks to these experiences I know that the more i get, the better . I do not mean that a smartphone with an average amount of this memory is working badly, because it has stopped being updated a long time ago (unless the software is poorly optimized, but it's another story). The more RAM, the better multitasking is, working with a few tools that are instantly restored from memory and ready to go. My personal smartphone is the Xiaomi Mi 6 with 6GB of RAM, which allows me to jump quickly between Slack, Twitter, Massenger, Gmail, Feedly, Chrome browser, Play store or Notes, which are needed for my daily work. Often, it also happens that the program I run a long time ago is still in memory, so I do not have to wait for it to start, which takes more energy than his stay in the background. This incredibly comfortable and more advanced users probably share my mind. The 6GB of RAM on a smartphone like the Xiaomi Mi 6 is so far a solid supply for the future and not all manufacturers believe that users already need that amount of memory. Richard Yu of Huaei once said so, and Juho Sarvikas, head of product at HMD Global, said in a similar tone. Mr Sarvikas believes that the average user needs up to 4GB of RAM , since apps from the Google Play store do not require more, thanks to a decent optimization. In this situation, the beneficial effect of additional 2GB would be difficult to notice and mainly because Nokia 8 has 4GB RAM on most markets. What's different in China, where users do not have official access to Google store resources, so they have to work in poorly developed applications , so this market Nokia 8 with 6GB of RAM would make sense. It is unofficial to say that such a version of HMD Global Flag is to appear in the Middle States. How much RAM do your smartphones have? Is that enough memory for you?
