Google has shared the latest statistics, which are dated August this year. Android Nougat is still growing, but at a very slow pace.

As in the month of August, we also got insight into the shares of the different versions of Android installed on all mobile devices. There is a change, but Nougat's popularity is growing at such a slow pace that it may be too slow against the upcoming Android launch. Also this month it is very small.

Naturally the largest market share is Marshmallow – indicators show 32.3%. The second most popular version of the software is Android Lollipop, which has an Android market share of 29.2%. The podium closes KitKat, which is still used by 16% of users. Jelly Bean (7.6%), Ice Cream Sandwich (0.7%) and Gingerbread (0.7%) were followed. While it may enjoy the prospect of extinction of the oldest version of the system, it is not optimistic that Android Nougat has a mere 13.5% share of all devices running Android. This is a very poor result compared to the upcoming Android O, whose popularity may grow at an even slower pace. Undoubtedly, as the first software updates will certainly introduce Samsung, Google, HTC, Lenovo and Sony, but you have to remember the huge number of devices – mainly Chinese budgets, who can never wait for Android O.
