In the second quarter of 2017, 22 million units of wearables were sold worldwide. Xiaomi is the leader on this issue, but Apple has also done very well over the same period. Fitbit was much worse off.
Tim Cook recently boasted that Apple sold more than 50% more Apple Watch watches in the third quarter of fiscal year 2017 than the same period last year. The Analytics Analytics data confirm this information. We also know how much they have been sold since 2015. According to Strategy Analytics, Apple sold 2.8 million Apple Watches in the third fiscal quarter of 2017. This translates into a 56% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, when sales totaled 1.8 million units. At the same time, more wearables also sold Xiaomi (about 0.7 million units), making the Chinese take the lead. In second place was Fitbit, whose results are much weaker compared to 2016 (down from 5.7 million to 3.4 million). In third place appeared Apple. Wearables from other manufacturers also sold quite well (up from 9.5 million to 11.7 million). Even so, compared to the previous year, the wearables market trend has slowed significantly. In 2015, 13.6 million smartwatches with a biting apple logo were sold. A little later, 11.6 million. It seems that since the launch of the watch, about 31.5 million units have been sold.Source: Strategy Analytics
