Qualcomm has opened a news bag today. We got to know the 14-nanometer Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 for lower-shelf devices, the Snapdragona Wear 1200 for gadgets, and an amazing fingerprint reader that can work under the screen, glass and even metal.

Qualcomm today unveiled its latest solution, designed for smartphones and wearables.

New fingerprint reader

The most interesting of today's news is Qualcomm Sense ID, a new generation of fingerprint reader. It is unique and will probably open a new chapter in the history of this technology, at least for smartphones. What is unique about Qualcomm?

The latest Sense ID was created to work on a variety of materials. Thanks to ultrasound sensors, the reader is able to read the fingerprint, hidden under the OLED screen, glass, and even metal . This way it can hit not only under the display but also under the aluminum back cover of the smartphone. Using sound waves also allows you to read a wet fingerprint, so if someone wants to, the phone will be able to unlock even under water. An additional feature is the ability to measure heart rate.

Many maniacs are waiting for this kind of solution and finally the dream will be fulfilled, but at the appearance of a new reader in commercial devices we have to wait until at least the first half of 2018 . Qualcomm Sense ID manufacturers will hit the final quarter of this year.

Snapdragon Wear 1200 is a layout for dressing equipment, especially for the children's sector. Qualcomm has reduced the size of the system to its predecessor, so manufacturers can reduce the size of the device or increase the capacity of the battery. The unit uses the Cortex-A7 @ 1,3 GHz processor and has been optimized for minimum power consumption at rest. The Snapdragon Wear 1200 supports LTE and GPS, GLONASS, Gallileo, BeiDou, WiFi and Bluetooth. The processor is already in the hands of the manufacturers, and the first devices with it will be coming soon. Source: Yahoo News , FoneArena , Qualcomm
