Razer is a well-known brand that manufactures hardware and accessories directly for gamers. It turns out that Americans would also like to conquer the mobile market – not only by smartphones, but also by a specific platform. Can such an idea at all have a chance of success?

On the occasion of the opening of its first fixed-line store in Hong Kong, Razer CEO Tan Min-Liang announced that his company would like to create gaming smartphones and a dedicated platform for mobile players. Razer's boss did not tell us exactly when we would see the news. The Greens, however, see for themselves a huge field of play that has not yet been developed: yes, we have already seen various original smartphones reminiscent of falling to the PlayStation, but the Sony Xperia Play has never become a sales hit. On the other hand, Razer's decision may not be so stupid at all. The rapid development of Android as a gaming platform is generating revenue for the first quarter of this year: Green Robotics earned $ 5.3 billion in revenue, an increase of 83% over the same period a year earlier. Smartphones with budget shelves also allow for more on the same issues than just a few years ago. Last but not least, Razer knows more about how to get around it. The brand is owned by Ouya and also acquired Nextbit . The first company creates accessories for gamers, and the other is the same smartphones. But I wonder, what target group will Razer direct its hardware: certainly the largest sales will be among the youngest users.
