Huawei officially filed an application for trademark restriction, which covers a completely new technology. Although the document itself does not reveal the exact technical specifications, its name can tell us what to expect.
The new application submitted by the Chinese manufacturer has been labeled as "Huawei 4D Touch" and is currently being reviewed by the relevant institution. The name itself suggests that the Chinese brand can now work on the successor to 3D Touch, a solution that has hit the iPhone (under the name Force Touch) and some smartphones with Android. Until now, in the case of Huawei, the manufacturer decided to implement the pressure sensor only to the smartphone Mate S, which appeared almost 2 years ago. As I mentioned, unfortunately, the document itself does not tell us exactly what we can expect from the 4D Touch functionality, but Huawei is another manufacturer that is working on the original capabilities of interacting with mobile devices. So it is safe to assume that the 4D Touch will go to most smartphones and all future Huawei display devices. Rumors are that the 4D Touch will be seen in the upcoming Mate 10, but it's worth the eye. On the other hand, in the world of Android "3D Touch" has never become popular enough to be interested in other manufacturers. Will this change? Hard to say.Source: MyIPO
