Today launches Creators Update for eligible Windows Mobile 10 smartphones on board. What to expect after a new update and who will get it?

For today (25.04), Microsoft has announced the availability of Creators Update for the following Windows Mobile 10 smartphones:

  • Microsoft Lumia 550,
  • Microsoft Lumia 640 / 640XL,
  • Microsoft Lumia 650,
  • Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL,
  • Alcatel IDOL 4S (Windows 10),
  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL,
  • SoftBank 503LV,
  • VAIO Phone Biz,
  • MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601,
  • Trinity NuAns NEO,
  • HP Elite x3.

New software will be available in the evenings (usually around 19 hours). You can update your settings through your phone's settings: Settings> Updates & security> Phone updates> Check for updates . The battery charge level must exceed 40%.

What's New?

Changes to Creators Update update include:

  • Edge – new emoticons, Web Payments (integrating browser with Microsoft Wallet); This feature will not be available in Poland,
  • Settings – Refresh the appearance, rebuild the structure to improve ergonomics,
  • Cortana – numerous improvements on Recognizing music and controlling it,
  • Restore factory settings of installed applications,
  • Extensive notification of missed calls,
  • Data consumption – functional development,
  • Introducing View 3D as default; It is used to view 3D content,
  • Unified Update Platform – a new update mechanism that limits the download of new builds to modified files, changes the way updates are available, and the ability to install the latest version regardless of the current software version.
