Samsung Galaxy S8 meets Daydream, but for unknown reasons the manufacturer has not provided in its latest flagowcu support for this platform.
VRHeads service informs that the Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S8 S8 + does not offer support for the Google platform Daydream, although theoretically meet all the necessary requirements. This means that this year's flagship Koreans not Google will handle solutions related to virtual reality. It is not known why Koreans do not have implemented appropriate solutions, but it no doubt was their conscious decision. There are voices that Samsung has decided to take this step as a partner of the company Oculus, for some time to promote its solutions. We must remember that along with the Galaxy S8 debuted a new edition of the Gear VR goggles. Probably in the future there will be appropriate update that will introduce support for Daydream. The problem can be overcome on your own, unless one sees the problem in a handwritten modifying the software (you only need to add one line of code). For instructions, see on VRHeads . Source: VRHeads
