To the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has received numerous complaints concerning the practices of the company PGT in Warsaw, operating under the brand name "Telephony Poland Together". The entrepreneur presents an offer by phone, and courier visits the customer's home. Consumers, especially the elderly and their families reported that they had been misled. They thought that prolong the contract with the current operator, and then it turned out that signed the new contract – with the PGT. Therefore, the Authority initiated proceedings against the PGT. In analyzing the case, UOKiK confirmed that consumers were misled as to the identity of offering the service.The next step in the agreement was to provide the documents to be signed by the courier cooperating with the PGT. He kept the belief that it is representative of the current operator. Additionally confusion introduced a prominence on the first page of the contract the name of the company, which has so far provided services. PGT action meant that consumers decided to sign an unfavorable contract. There have been concluded her if they had real information, in fact, change the operator. UOKiK also stated that the PGT did not provide consumers with the signed agreements. This action is contrary to morality. In this case it resulted in the fact that consumers do not have the awareness that have entered into a new agreement, and that they could withdraw from it free of charge – within 14 days. After this time, the termination charges resulted in a load ranging from 500 to 1500 zł. According to the Office, PGT deliberately misleading to win the greatest number of customers. This resulted in significant financial losses for consumers. The Company has not changed its practices, despite numerous complaints of clients and the proceedings by the OCCP. The Office did not find this on any mitigating circumstances, because an entrepreneur has imposed the maximum penalty provided for by the law – nearly 10 percent. turnover in the preceding year.
