agency clearly stated that the use of mobile devices in flight safety is not affected during the trip. Now, such a provision in their regulations will be able to enter all European airlines – the only condition is very complex to carry out tests indicating any potential interference. With these regulations, carriers will be able to allow the use of smartphones not only in flight mode, but also enabled the transmission of data. At the same time, they will also ensure coverage of the problem, because at an altitude of several thousand meters, it is hard to provide connectivity to mobile networks. It is also unclear whether airlines permit to conduct telephone conversations, which can affect passenger comfort due to increased noise level. Source: EASA
